Adam Wainwright is the ace of the St. Louis Cardinals pitching staff. Adam led the Cardinals in wins in 2007, and after battling injuries in 2008, he finished the season with 11 wins, 3 losses and a 320 ERA. He was impressive in the 2006 World Series, winning game 4, saving game 5 and having a 0.00 ERA in the World Series. Adam is a good hitting pitcher, and in his first swing in his first ever Major League game, he hit a homerun. In 2009, Adam finished the season with 19 wins, 212 strikeouts and a 2.63 ERA. He led the NL with 12 1st place votes in the Cy Young Award voting despite finishing just short of winning the award in 09.
